Chapter one
I Carried You
July 2026 | Paintings 1-5 in the Nature Diaries
Chapter 1
The Story
I was 16 weeks pregnant when my doctor couldn't find my little boy's heartbeat anymore.
Miscarriage is devastating. Infertility is isolating. So many women struggle with these things quietly. The endless appointments, the feeling unsure of your future, the actual loss - it all takes a toll on the dreams you had for your life.
Chapter 1 of the nature diaries is about loss, the way it has changed my perspective. It's also about choosing hope when there is no evidence for it.
While everyone’s experience with grief and fertility is so different, my goal with these paintings is to give a voice to other women who have struggled. If that’s you, I’m hoping you feel seen and understood in this work.
Feel free to reach out to me any time if you want to chat about your own story xx

In the Becoming
"In a Heartbeat"
The Meaning
In a Heartbeat explores how grief can interrupt our ability to find joy in the little moments of life, but also how we find our way back in time.
"Phases"
The Meaning
Phases shows the capacity we have to hold both grief and joy, bravely and all at once. It also explores how we expand to meet the bends and turns of life. Full story and symbolism in the description below.
"Found"
Found
The Meaning
Found explores feeling seen in our darkest moments. It's about how sometimes we have to take the first step toward healing, and how God (a higher power) will meet us there
"Met with Softness"
met with softness
The Meaning
Met With Softness explores the tender space between silence and vulnerability. The moment when we finally let someone into the parts of ourselves we've been quietly carrying alone.
This piece is for anyone who has ever hesitated at the edge of their own vulnerability and wondered if it is worth it.
"In the Becoming"
The Meaning
In the Becoming explores that there is a version of us before grief and an entirely new version of us after. Difficult things inevitably change us, but we get to decide what that change is. We choose where to put our energy, how we define ourselves, and what feelings we identify with. Who do you choose to be today?
